Happy Halloween

The entire family in Bly assigned costumes. I don't know how he came up with Batman, but he was insistent. As for the witch, I guess sometimes it just comes naturally.

Working Men

One Saturday we stopped into Lowe's to pick up some lightbulbs and stumbled upon the craft time for the kids. Dad and Bly went to work on a wooden bat while Azzi and I took a few laps around the store before she was able to 'help'.

The Lucky Charm

Tim and I took Bly to see his first hockey game of the season. As with the football, he knew what to look for this season and what was actually happening (maybe even more than Mom). He had fun, got a puck and now wants to 'skate like those guys'. He did get to see the Irish knock off #1 BC so maybe our little man brought a little luck to the Irish.

Zoo Boo

We took the kids to Little Zoo Boo which was Azley's first time to actually comprehend what trick or treating was all about. She had a pro with Bly showing her the way though.

Her first treat. She was amazed and instantly a fan of Halloween!

Sporting her new look after finally opening that first sucker.

The Patch

After the kids have gone with all sorts of family members to pumpkin patches across the area, Mom and Dad finally took the two munchkins ourselves. I was able to get some great pictures of the kids having fun at the farm.

Smiley pumpkins

We made some fun smiley pumpkins early in October using stickers (which fell off in about 3 days). The kids had fun and it was a way to get them excited about fall.

Trains (again)

We went with some friends to see a local train museum which was right up Bly's alley. I think that Azzi is starting to like trains just from the shear fact of being around them all day.

The girls

With all the pictures of the day, this was my favorite...

Finger painting

Now some were laughing at this but how else would you let your small children finger paint??

Football!!!

We wanted to take Bly to a game this year and October seems like the best time to try. We had beautiful weather last Saturday so we took this as our opportunity to go. This year Bly knew what the spectacle was about and was super excited to get in and "watch football". Thank goodness Daddy found a group of tickets so we were on our way. His biggest highlight was of course the flyover which he told everyone was too loud.

Posing for Mom with his new hat which had to be green. Thank goodness ND could accommodate that request.

Having fun before the game.

Farmers Market Fall Fest

The South Bend farmers market had a fall fest with bands, animals, a few rides and even ice carving. As we were pulling up, Bly spotted the camel and went straight towards him. I couldn't believe how he just climbed right up there without hesitation. You don't see pictures like this everyday in South Bend!

Pony rides too!

Dance Class

Azzi and I are taking a Mommy and Me dance class one morning while Bly is in school. She loves to run more than dance but she does have the hand clapping songs down pat.

Future Guard?

We took the kids to see the ND band practice one night. They loved dancing and playing with all the other kids. Azzi was very interested in the Irish Guard. At the rate she is growing, she could be the second woman on the squad.

Typical photo shoot

Just a little taste of taking pictures of the Johnson kids. For one decent picture:

You also get:

A dog in the picture

Poking one another

A runner

Goofy faces

A different dog in the picture

And a diva that won't share the spotlight

Wild Thing

How this outfit actually happened I am not sure but she was very proud of all her accessories!

Racing Day

We entered Bly in my hometown's Apple Festival trike race. He had been telling us for two days that he was going to win so I was hoping for the best but bracing for the worst. I wasn't even sure if he knew how starting a race went. To my surprise he shot off the starting line and never looked back. He won his first blue ribbon that day and his smile was priceless.

The big winner!
